Shotcrete is quite literally concrete that is ‘shot’ out of a hose. The two main ways of applying Shotcrete are either a dry-mix or a wet-mix process. ‘Gunite’ refers to the dry-mix version, and spray concrete is also used to […]

Slope stabilization can range from spraying a reinforced overlay of Shotcrete, to a complete anchored approach. Using both rock as anchors along with steel reinforcing will give a fast, cost-effective solution for securing unstable surfaces.

In civil projects and engineering, Shotcrete has great use in stabilizing soil or rocky slopes. Steel mesh can be laid over the surface, and then shotcrete sprayed over the top, securing the top layer and enabling the slop to become […]

Most structures have steel and concrete frames. Supporting beams and columns criss cross as required to form the central support for the rest of a buildings weight. The wet concrete that makes up Shotcrete, is sprayed directly onto steel mesh […]

Concrete capping beams are needed to form part of a building mainframe, or skeleton. They form a grid of columns and beams that serve to support a buildings roofs, elevator shafts, walls and so on. Shotcrete is sprayed onto steel […]

Shotcrete is perfectly suited to making basements walls, as it can be so easily be pumped down and then shot out of pressurized hose and nozzle. It can be used to make solid walls be being sprayed directly onto steel […]

The main difference between concrete and shotcrete, is what occurs during its application. While concrete is poured on, or into pre-formed framework, using a mixer truck, Shotcrete is quite literally ‘shot’ onto a surface from a pressurized hose.

Shotcrete is applied to a surface using a pressurized hose and nozzle, often called a ‘gun.’ It causes the wet cement mixture to shoot evenly onto on to whatever the surface is that it is being applied to. It is […]

When Shotcrete is correctly and professionally applied, it is a solid, durable material that has extremely good bonding ability to existing concrete or other surfaces – like rock or steel. Shotcrete is very versatile, and used in both commercial and […]

The machine required for applying Shotcrete is basically a pressurized hose, that is bale to inject water at the same time. Shotcrete is cement that in propelled through a trigger nozzle at high velocity, and then sprayed onto a surface. […]
